# Review

Every design part is reviewed before it's made. Status only changes through the review buttons.

## Open a design part

Click a design part's row to open it. The panel shows its details, its review status and buttons, and its comment thread. **Edit part** here changes the design part's own details (then **Save**).

## Submit your part

When a design part is ready, click **Submit for review**. Its status becomes **submitted**.

## Review a teammate's part

1. Click **Start review** so others know you've picked it up. The status becomes **in review**.
2. Then either:
   * **Approve**: the part becomes **approved** and is ready to be created for manufacturing, or
   * **Request changes**: say what to fix in the comment. A comment is required. The status becomes **changes requested**.

You can approve straight from **submitted** without starting a review first.

{% hint style="warning" %}
You can't approve a part you created. Someone else has to, or an admin.
{% endhint %}

## Fix requested changes

Update the part, reply in the thread if it helps, and click **Submit for review** again.

Changes can still be requested after a part is approved, as long as it hasn't been created for manufacturing yet.

## Status summary

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.raidrobotics.org/raidparts/designer-guide/review.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
