# FAQ and troubleshooting

## Access

**I signed in but see a message asking me to contact an admin.** Your account has no role yet. Ask one of the admins listed on the screen to add you. See [Sign in and get access](/raidparts/getting-started/sign-in-and-access.md).

**I'm a designer but can't see the Manufacturing environment.** Creating parts needs the Manufacturer role too. Ask an admin to add it.

## Design

**I can't approve a part.** You can't approve a part you created. Ask a teammate, or an admin.

**My approved part isn't under Approved for manufacturing.** That list shows each designer their own parts (admins see all). Check it hasn't already been created, in which case it's in the parts list and shows **in manufacturing**.

**I can't change a part's fields.** Click **Edit part** first. Only the part's designer or an admin sees it, and parts on hold stay read-only.

**I made a part obsolete but it says requested.** The part was already created, so it's on hold until an admin decides. See [Change or retire a part](/raidparts/designer-guide/change-a-part.md).

## Shop floor

**It says I cannot advance because another step is not yet complete.** An earlier step on the MO isn't complete. Finish that one first, or ask an admin.

**It says someone already started the step.** Someone else has it in progress. Use **Take over** if you're taking it from them.

**It says I can't reopen a step because a later one has started.** Undo only works while nothing after that step has started. Ask an admin.

**The card says On hold.** Don't work it. An admin needs to decide. See [Holds and cancels](/raidparts/manufacturing-guide/holds-and-cancels.md).

**I can't find QA fail.** It only shows when the MO is at QA.

**The Print label button says Labels printed.** Labels were already printed and confirmed. Ask an admin to reprint.

**The bend drawing shows Missing.** Report a **Problem** with the reason Missing or wrong drawing, so the part's designer can attach it.

## Admin

**I can't delete a season.** Only an inactive season with nothing in it can be deleted.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.raidrobotics.org/raidparts/reference/faq.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
