Workflow

Workflow to Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Parts

This document outlines the workflow and steps for CNC programming parts in Fusion 360. It also includes guidance on speeds, feeds, offsets, depths and tool libraries.

CNC Naming Procedure

Please follow the naming procedure outlined in the CNC Program # section of this Part Numbering and Nomenclature document. This should be done for all setups of every part that is CAM'ed.

CNC Presets

This document provides screenshots of the recommended speeds, feeds, offsets, and depths for machining aluminum and poly-carbonate materials using a 3-flute, 3/16-inch diameter end mill.

Baseline Calibration

At the start of off-season meetings prior to the end of the year, begin going through the following checklist to ensure you prepare your machine for functional and performance success for the next competitive season. Additionally, step-by-step procedures to perform each of the baseline calibrations will be provided.

Import Code

To receive the name of the required CNC program code to import, communicate with the CNC programmer.

If unfamiliar with the naming convention, refer to the CNC Program Numbering page. If you are wanting to learn more of the CNC Programming Process, refer to the CAM Programming page.

For CNC Operators who may be monitoring the progress throughout the cutting process and are curious of how long the process will take, refer to the CNC Cutting Simulation section.
