Process B: Creating a new assembly and a new part within that assembly

Create a new assembly

Find the correct subsystem and select "Add part" and give the assembly a descriptive name and press enter.

Assign Assembly ID

Each assembly needs to have a unique identifier in its respective subsystem. Please assign the next available number.

There should never be duplicate Assembly IDs in a single subsystem. Please make sure that you are selecting the next available digit for your assembly

Assign Part ID

Each assembly should have a Part ID of 0

Assemblies are not individual parts therefore their Part ID is left as 0

Expand the assembly for parts

Enter new part

Please type a descriptive name for your part then press enter

Set Part Subsystem

Set the subsystem to match the assembly subsystem

Set Part Assembly ID

The assembly ID of the part must match the assemblies ID

The assembly ID columns must match otherwise the part numbers will not be correct
